Why use bold text?
Most social apps strip formatting from posts and bios. Bold Unicode letters survive copy and paste, so you can make a heading, a name or a key phrase stand out on Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and TikTok.
Use bold text well
- Bold a few words, not whole posts. It draws the eye only when the rest is plain.
- Keep hashtags and search terms plain. Platforms index normal letters; 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝 words may not match searches.
- Think about accessibility. Some screen readers spell out Unicode bold letter by letter, so avoid it for important information.
Frequently asked questions
Is the bold text generator free?
Yes. It’s free and works in any browser without an app or account.
Does bold text work on LinkedIn and Facebook?
Yes. LinkedIn and Facebook posts have no bold button, but pasted Unicode bold letters display for everyone.
Can I make bold text in WhatsApp without this tool?
Yes. WhatsApp supports its own formatting: wrap text in asterisks, like *bold*. Unicode bold also works there and in apps without built-in formatting.
